Internship

The Period of Internship has been adjusted from eighteen (18) months to one (1) year effective from the 2004 graduating class of UWI. The Internship period for graduates from other Universities is determined by the Dean of the respective university or the Registrar of the Medical Council that holds jurisdiction in that country. Usually the internship period for graduates of Indian and Nigerian Universities is one (1) year. Please contact the Dean of your University to confirm the internship period.

On completion of Internship, the medical practitioner should submit completed pre-registration forms. more

There are circumstances where an Interne chooses to complete the Internship in another jurisdiction. In such cases, the doctor would usually require some sort of Verification Letter or Letter of Good Standing  from MBTT stating the medical practitioner's character, in order to secure employment in another country. Hence, it is advisable that the Interne notifies the office and submits the pre-registration certificate for those rotations completed.
