In this situation, the applicant must supply original and a copy of the following: Medical practice license and Registration certificate. The Letter of Good Standing must be an original and not older than three (3) months old at the time of the first Council sitting. Holders of Irish registration can also apply for Full Registration in this manner. Where the applicant is not a national of Trinidad & Tobago a non-refundable fee of $630.00 TTD or $100.00 USD must be paid. Introduction of Doctor of Medicine ( UWI) for consideration for Full RegistrationEffective from May 4th 2005, the Council will consider foreign applicants who can produce satisfactory evidence of successful completion in any Doctor of Medicine programmes at the University of the West Indies for Full Registration. Please note that for such applicants be recognised as specialist he/she would need to explicitly register the D.M. at subsequent meetings. Please note the registration of a new medical practitioner take two months. In the first month the documents are reviewed (by Council) for approval and in the second month ( once the documents are approved) the applicant appears before the Council. During this two month period a Permission-to-Practice medicine is provided to that applicant, to allow for employment and work permit processing. It is a legal requirement that all new applicants attend at least one meeting. As a Fully Registered Member of the Medical Board of Trinidad & Tobago, you would be entitled to register your post-graduate qualifications. Please note that not all post-graduate qualifications are registrable with MBTT. |
